So here in Ghana there are lots of people selling things in the streets. Traffic is generally slow enough that they can just walk among the cars selling whatever they have that day. Many of them carry their goods on their head so that is pretty cool. We have seen people selling water, chocolate, fried plantains, doughnut holes, peanuts, paintbrushes, super glue, steering wheel covers, towels, blankets, toilet paper, framed pictures, wall size maps of Ghana, and small tables to name a few. You could practically do your grocery shopping on the way home from work every day.
I thought I had seen it all until this morning I saw this man introducing a new product onto the market. That's right folks, he was walking up and down the street with a puppy in each hand. They were so adorable! I wish I had gotten a picture but he walked by too quickly.
Kirsten and I like to joke that we need to be a hawker for a day if we want to have the true Ghanaian experience. We would like to introduce a new product to the market because almost everywhere you go they are selling the same 20 items. Maybe we'll sell chocolate chip cookies and see how they like those. I don't think we can top the puppy man though. Plus, the other hawkers would probably mame us if we tried to tread on their territory.
