Primary Pioneers

The second week that I attended church here I got asked to be a primary worker. The next week I got an official calling from the Bishop. Kirsten is a primary worker too so we take turns helping in nursery and regular primary.

A few weeks ago the 1st counselor in the primary presidency (an American whose husband works for the Church) informed us that the primary was preparing to have their first activity EVER. It would be focused around the Book of Mormon. The activity happened today and it was so much fun.

This is my nursery buddy, Jason.
Taking a quiz on some simple facts from the Book of Mormon. These kids have only been members for one year and they did so well on the quiz. They are also the best singers on Sundays.
Sister Davis (1st counselor) , Jason, and Thelma (primary president)
Me and David, Thelma's son. He is almost 1 year old but he wear 3-6 month clothes. So tiny and so cute!
Parker and Price
Kids working while Grandpa Asante (far left with white shirt) makes the answer key. Grandpa Asante is single and 26 years old but he is the bishopric member over primary so all of the kids call him grandpa.
Kevin and Kelvin. Don't tell them but Kelvin is my favorite kid in all of primary. He's very well behaved and always really well dressed.
At the end we watched a few clips from The Testaments. For many of the kids this was their first time in a "movie theater." Sister Davis made little tickets and Kirsten and I popped up the popcorn for the whole crew.
P.S. If you're ever coming to Ghana and someone tells you that you should dress down to fit in with the people then you should just laugh in their face. Look back at these pictures and you will see that all the Ghanaians are dressed nicely and the Americans look like hobos.
