Tonight we had our friends Frances (polo shirt) and Adeola (striped shirt) over to hang out, have some dinner, and watch a movie. Adeola said that he wanted to try something new so I made mexican food. I was worried about finding all of the ingredients but we went to a different grocery store today and they had everything I needed. Paid a pretty penny but it was SOOOO worth it! The menu consisted of chicken burritos with refried beans and shredded cheddar cheese. I also made some homemade salsa. Oh how I have missed salsa. I bought some tortilla chips as well but they were slightly disappointing.
First we had burrito making lessons.
Looks like Adeola's first bite was a success!
Frances's first bite was successful as well but the picture is kinda funny. He told me that I couldn't post it on facebook but he didn't say anything about my blog. he he!
After eating we watched The Man with One Red Shoe. It's a great Tom Hanks movie from the year of my birth. Watching a movie with Ghanaians was definitely an interesting experience. They laughed really hard at every joke and then proceeded to explain it to each other. Good times!
Adeola has already agreed to cook next time we have them over. He is going to prepare a delicacy that he ate often on his mission. Indomie Pizza. You are probably wondering what Indomie is as you sift through your memory to think of the many meats or vegetables you have heard of to see if it rings a bell. Well, my friends, Indomie is the African version of Ramen. I will definitely give a full report on how ramen pizza goes.
P.S. If you've been wondering what our apartment looks like you can look at the background of these pictures to see our living room.
